Walking with God

I’m tired of all the conflicting theological opinions and teachings abounding today. It is time to throw out all the confusion of the vast majority of historical and current man made doctrine. It is time to unlearn the ways of popular theology and go back to the word of God and seek His face. Then we will be able to discern fact from fiction.

This won’t be popular with many but we are not called to be popular. We are called to walk with God as Enoch, Noah, Moses, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Matthew, Luke, Paul, John the baptist, apostle John and all the other apostles, disciples, prophets and other men of God did.
It is time to not only say we believe the word of God but to actually follow the One who inspired its writing.

The following scripture is true. Even so, some will keep hold of their theological college learnings, their steadfastness in the comforts of men who have passed on and cannot answer any more questions, their commentaries and their many books but I’m going back to the only book that matters and am following this advice from a man who walked with Jesus Christ personally…..

1 John 2:26-29
26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. 27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. 29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

Once we start actually believing and heeding this scripture, we may begin to overcome our fear of using the intellect God gave us. Instead though, most today have an intellectual phobia of seeking understanding from God alone. They have been immunized from true biblical learning and seduced by their apparent inability to fathom what Jesus has promised us.

John 14
26  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Matthew 7
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Too many are afraid to ask Jesus, read His word and await His teaching. Instead, they have been taught that they need all the extra books, commentaries and sermons abounding today to understand the words plainly laid out in the scriptures. I suspect a large majority of this thinking has arisen as a result of the modern indoctrination and dumbing down agenda we know of as the school system.

Please don’t misunderstand me here. I am NOT against sermons and books. There truly are numerous men of God who have written valuable books and spoken anointed sermons. However, the majority of theological doctrines and dogma that have arisen since the New Testament writing are erroneous (sometimes dangerously so), powerful and seductive, yet subtle.
Some (TULIP and it’s offshoots being a key one) have pervaded even in my church (Street Church) amongst some who are dear brothers and sisters I love very much and preach on the streets with. It is this that makes my heart grieve the most because these dear brothers and sisters are prepared to die for their commitment to Christ but they are being seduced and limited by such doctrine and many cannot see it. In fact, I fear that whenever I attempt to point it out, I will be confronted with many convincing words that seem right at the time and may be difficult to refute on the spur of the moment. I am not one of convincing arguments and do not have the gift of such persuasion so I must take time alone to seek the only one I can gain strength from to endure such things, God Himself.

One of my greatest fears is not that of being alone but that of being seduced by such doctrine and not obeying God.

1 Samuel 15
22  And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

What we need today more than ever, and I include myself in this, is a mighty outpouring of the Holy Ghost to shake our foundations and rebuild His truth in us.
